Hello! I am an ambitious 15-year-old honors sophomore in high school! Through my freshman year, I stood with a 3.85 cumulative GPA, including three honors classes (English, Global Studies, and Biology). This current on-going year I continue my impressive GPA with MSOE level and related classes (Human Body Systems), and two honors classes (Chemistry and English). I also take an Economics course, Spanish 2, and Geometry. This year, I had been announced to be in the top 24 of my graduating class. I grew up in a french speaking country, most of my education was done in French. I am now studying in the United states just to improve my English. Prior to coming here to study, I worked for the united nations in Haiti and did a lot of translating from French to spanish, English to French and vice versa.

Certified Teacher Looking To Help Others As A Tutor

I prefer to have materials prepared prior to any tutoring session so communication ahead of time will be essential. I love teaching in a hands on style in which the student not only has an algorithm of how to solve a specific problem, but has a thorough understanding of the concepts behind the algorithm. I enjoy having analogies or hands-on activities to demonstrate the concepts. I believe that many times people understand the basic concepts from physics in their daily life, but are frightened by equations. Using analogies or hands-on examples initially reinforces their knowledge and increases their confidence which decreases the fear of equations. I was homeschooled for the majority of my education which enabled me to assit my younger brothers and sisters in their studies. I taught a few Science classes including botony and a study of birds and have tutored in highschool math as well. I played volleyball, took 3 years of piano, and was a member of Chior as well. I worked as a teachers aide in a preschool for 2 years. I worked with children from the age of 6 weeks to 5 years. I plan on going to college for either business or diognostic sonography.

Working with fourth graders was the beginning of my life as an educator. After five years of teaching, I changed grade levels and taught fifth grade for four years.
