While in High School, I developed a love for the language and all of the different cultures of the Spanish speaking world. Over thirty years of college teaching experiences for a number of universities to include Florida Institute of Technology and Central Michigan University. The most recent contract was to teach MSA 600, Foundations of Research Methods in Adminstration for CMU at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Summer 2015. I also served as a trainer and training supervisor for over 20 years at the U S Army Quartermaster Center and School, Fort LEE, VA. From January to June 2015 I served as the Campaign Chair for the Living Our Mission Fund Drive at St Joseph Catholic Church, Petersburg, VA. I have taken classes in advanced mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics. As a person labeled LD I understand and have developed techniques to learn material. I believe that anyone can learn any subject if you give them the proper tools. Setting goals and meeting them is only part of the battle, Knowing what when wrong and how to fix it is the other half. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching 3rd grade Sunday School for two years. I have been assisting my children in an educational capacity for over 7 years. My teaching style is tailored to the individual. The first thing I do when I'm trying to teach someone something is determine their learning style. If they don't know it I help them figure it out. I do find that most people learn best by diving in and doing it themselves first, while I serve as a "safety net". Whenever I was teaching new helmsmen or junior officers how to steer survey lines, I would direct them how to do it the first few times, and then when they felt ready to try it themselves, I stood back and let them, not stepping in until the absolute last second. Letting them make and try to correct their own mistakes seemed to be the best teaching tool I had.

A Little Bit About Me...

Over the past five years I have worked as a Teacher/Instructor both the the legal field and in the public school setting with students diagnosed as ED and LD as well as being displaced from the normal public school setting. Even though my academic degrees are in the legal field I have stayed current in areas of Reading and Math from Basic Algebra to Geometry.
I believe that a student who lacks the basic fundamental skills in reading and mathematics will struggle to stay focused in class and continually be disruptive and ultimately stop attending school. My teaching style is consistently accommodating especially to these types of students.
