Math and science did not always come easy to me as a student, so I know how frustrating it can be for someone to struggle in school. As a tutor, I work hard to give my students the confidence they need to succeed in and outside of the classroom. I find that it helps when students understand why the concept they’re working on is important and what it can actually be used for out in the real world. Focusing on this purpose gives students motivation, and I use this idea as often as possible. My teaching style is a combination of serious, in-depth theory and practical examples to demonstrate such theories, all with a hint of humor, followed by significant practice of the newly learned skills. I've been "teaching" people all of my business career. I always start with the underlying theory and immediately segue into a practical example of how the principles work. I think students want to learn, but need the information presented in a way that makes learning interesting, not boring. I have that ability.
