Probably my greatest gift that I've been given in this life is my love for people. I believe this love manifests itself through my teaching and makes me a unique educator. I am dedicated to my students and I glory in their successes. I know I've done my job right if my student begins to enjoy the benefits of hard work. Talents, knowledge and a thirst for knowledge are only acquired through diligence and persistence, this is something I have learned through studying piano and I strive to pass to my students.
I've gained experience with teaching in an array of ways. Firstly, I'm a recent graduate from BYU-Idaho in Piano Performance earning my Bachelor of Musical Arts. I believe in the Socratic Method. Through this tutoring method, the student is asked questions to help them develop understanding on their own. Through this discovery style, the students actually learn in ways that will be remembered most. I believe that any child, teenager, or adult can learn most effectively through their own discovery, with my help and guidance. I believe in strict adherence to deadlines and in follow up with students when I give assignments. Study sessions for the ACT will include timed sections and basic review of subject matter. I received high scores on the PSAT and ACT while in high school. I can provide proof of these if necessary. I received a 31 on the ACT (I would need to verify this, but I believe it is correct). I can teach students how to prepare for any test, including the ACT, GMAT, and SAT. I graduated from BYU Idaho in the top 5% of my class.
