Journalism is one of my top subjects! I am an experienced news and features writer, in my seventh year of employment for a weekly newspaper in Chino and Chino Hills. I have a journalism degree, as well as two arts degrees, which I feel enhances my unique approach to finding the best angle for any story.

I have 8 years experience writing news and features for a weekly newspaper, as well as screenwriting and fiction experience. Creative writing is my strength. I wrote a weekly humor column in collge, and have won awards in both feature and news writing. I also teach acting for grades 3-12. At the heart of all of my experience is the desire to tell stories in the most effective way possible.
Teaching a student to ask questions and arrive at their own conclusions, with guided discussion, is the best way to ensure that the knoweldge stays with them. The questions are at least as important as the answers.

My comments on tutoring Journalism : How to write subject specific articles and how to cite your work properly.

I think people learn best when they are in a supportive and exciting environment. Education should engage students on multiple levels. I emphasis critical thinking skills and multi-faceted learning rather than asking students to spit back information that they won't retain. Knowledge is power and I encourage students to think beyond their grades so that they can harness their own potential.

My comments on tutoring Journalism : Minored in writing at Loyola Marymount and took Journalism 1 and 2. I also was a history major, which required a great deal of research writing.

My studies in history have made me a terrific writer and researcher. I also have a great amount of experience in creative writing having taken many courses and working in talent agencies. My comments on tutoring Journalism : Have a Masters from USC's Annenberg School for Communication in Print Journalism

I have tutored elementary aged students in a group setting and elementary to high school aged students in a private setting for 3 years.
