I am a highly-experienced speaker and tutor of German with 4.5 years of tutoring experience. As a teenager, I attended the annual Statewide German Competition in San Antonio, TX, competing in various fields such as sight-reading, writing, comprehension, and conversation. I scored in the 90th percentile on the National Exam for three consecutive years; in 2011, I received the highest score in the state of Texas. In 2010, I was able to travel to Schwaebisch Hall, Germany, for a six-month study abroad program, where I lived with a German family and attended school to achieve an immersive experience. My comments on tutoring Journalism : This was my major in college.... strong skills due to marketing career.

I try to make things more interesting with activities and significant interaction, avoiding just talking at my students. Engaging would be my style.
I have extensive experience in writing/composition from years in marketing and public relations. Although I do not have my permanent teaching certification, I have extensive experience in teaching English/Language Arts and literature to middle school and high school students and have other teaching experience at the university level.

I believe that every child has the unalienable right to experience some success each and every day of their lives. My approach is hands-on, student centered and nurturing. I believe in learning by discovery and the use of manipulatives in a manner whereby the student learns without even knowing it. The discovery approach is best to grasping knowledge but to process any and all information is tantamount. Knowing what to do with the information is far more important than just possessing it.
