As the manager and head chemist of a solid fuels testing laboratory I have many years of experience training both high school and college interns. I acquired a Bachelors of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry from the University of MN, Duluth. I also have a broad math and physics background, and have a great enthusiasm for both. I tend to teach things in a visual way. Drawing pictures, diagrams and using visual aides are the best ways I have witnessed to teach kids. I also think a structured reward system is HUGE in motivating kids to succeed. You need to find out what motivates your kid (money, toys, etc) and set up a system where he/she can earn these rewards through academic success. I am currently a medical student at the University of Minnesota Medical School Duluth. Before I started medical school I worked as a tutor for six years with two teenage boys with autism.
