A Little Bit About Me...

I have a tremendous amount of experience in many math and science classes. I have graduated from Cornell with As and high Bs in all of my general requirement math and science classes, including AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Physics 1,2, AP Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Physics of Waves and Optics, and the Mechanics of Solids. These classes have led me to a good solid education in maths and sciences, and my previous tutoring experience with Tutor.com allowed me to develop good teaching skills. I believe that education should present as much material to the student as possible, which includes using various textbooks, lecture, and inquiry. After that, it will be up to the student to assess and construct the information given in order to form his/her own opinion about the subject matter. True education and learning is ownership of the subject matter which comes through effort and discipline and a little bit of guidance.
Since April 2007, I have been a substitute teacher at both the Watkins Glen High School and Middle School. Frequent subjects include English, Psychology, and Physical Education. I belong to a writers group which meets at the local library every first and third monday. I belong to a chess club that meets at a coffee shop every Thursday.
