A Little Bit About Me...

"Teaching" was the way I supported myself through college. I was a lab instructor, university experience teacher, cultural anthropology tutor, nutrition educator, and even a gymnastic instructor. I was thankful to find the College of St. Mary's Masters of Arts in Teaching. It is a solid program that has given me the opportunity to have a formal education in teaching. In my program I have over 100 practicum hours in a middle school science classroom, I tutored AP chemistry, and I have had exposure to reading comprehension strategies in many of my classes. Right now I student teach at Wichita North High. My classes are anatomy and physiology, biology, and honors biology.

During my four years obtaining a bachelor's degree in biology, I spent five semesters being a tutor in college algebra, statistics, pre-med biology, and spanish 101. In addition to my tutoring of college students I was a note taker for students with disabilities in various courses as well as on the academic committee in my fraternity. The academic committee was responsible for scheduling study halls and helping with the studies of freshmen members.
