A Little Bit About Me...

I really do not have a teaching style yet. A one on one setting is what I am used to. I am open to different teaching techniques depending on the help the child requires. The internet is available and has many different techniques to learning different subjects I can research as I see fit.
I have just received my BA in E-Business management with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am beginning my Masters in Criminal Justice in March and will continue to a Dr. in the same field when possible. I have taken piano lessons from accomplished musicians since my youth and have taught for over 45 years to both beginners and advanced including youth and adults. I have worked extensively with correct fingering, all areas of music knowledge for timing, counting, expression and composers. Learning all types of music appreciation. I work with the individual for their advancement and learning skills. I prepare them for recitals and programs. I feel that a love of music is the ultimate goal and working closly with the student, that goal will be accomplished.

Each person is different and as a tutor one has to be very empathic, patient, and understanding. By knowing the child you're working with and understanding their way of learning, you can adjust your methods to accommodate them, that way being more effective. Something very importatn that I have learned when tutoring, is to make them feel smart and give them positive affirmation when they learn something and reach a goal.
