I teach both face-to-face and online courses. In my face-to-face courses I usually start with a class discussion on the previous topic. I do this with a series of loaded questions meant to grab the students attention where I then work my way into the next lecture. I like to employ a variety of techniques such as power point and documentaries for student to get a better image of the historical subject at hand. I usually give three paper topics throughout the semester along with four tests. I focus intensely on making students better readers and writers. I have found history is a good means of achieving these goals when a students is given a subject he or she is interested in. I have held a strong passion for history since I was an undergrad at Radford University. I went to Ohio State in Art, then graduated at Ohio U. I taught 14 years in Florida and Ohio , grades 1 through 12; all subjects. I taught using primarily Art and music.
