While attending law school, I spent 2 full academic years tutoring first year law students. I tutored property and constitutional law. It was through tutoring that I was able to help several students improve their grades, both through emotional support and exceptional knowledge in the subjects. I enjoy learning new things and sharing that knowledge with others.
I believe that teaching through lecture and hands-on activities is the most effective. A student that is capable of "teaching" the teacher a lesson and explaining the subject in their own words will have a greater understanding of the subject. When I teach and tutor I explain to the student the topic in my words, and then continue to ask for feedback until the student is capable of explaining the lesson in their own words.

I have earned an AA in Liberal arts, AS in Allied Health, and a BS in Biology which have enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math, chemistry, genetics and science. After graduating with a bachelor's degree with a major in Spanish and minors in English and French, I began teaching high school Spanish my first year. Since I married a military officer, we moved often, so I had a chance to do substitute teaching at all grade levels and all subjects.
