I graduated with a degree in earth science education in 1995. I worked for several years as a substitute teacher and then returned to college to gain biology certification. I worked at a local high school for five years teaching seventh grade science and senior high general science. For the last six years I have worked for a head start program. A Little Bit About Me...

Because of my experience in teaching my own children, I have discovered that no child is too young to learn. Often people will not consider an infant or toddler a "functioning human being" until the child can speak. This is so inaccurate! I taught one of my daughters to read at age four. My teaching style is to engage the student on a personal level through cheerful conversation and sharing of interests, then to assess learning styles, strengths, and challenges. Children perform well when expectations are complimentary to them, and when they are given the tools and nurture to accomplish their dreams.

I believe subjects need to be looked at in an interesting way and a way that the student can relate to. Everyone learns differently and it just takes finding that one way that each student learns best. I feel that everyone can do well in anything they put their mind to.
I am a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania. I obtained a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Math. I have always had a good understand of the sciences and mathematics.
