German is one of my top subjects!

I began learning German and French when I was 16 and in High School, then immediately continued my studies in College at University of Northern Colorado, where I am currently a double major in the two languages. I will be a Senior this year. Within my experience, I have traveled to Germany thrice, two of those times to study through the college. I have also studied abroad for French in Québec. Learning starts with learing about oneself and how you best perform. It is very similar to sports, you start off learning the techniques and then you must learn how you best apply them, and yes it takes practice. I have gathered many tools in my life and they came from all the different activities I have done. One must only keep the eyes open and mind focused to absorb the world around them. My experience in tutoring began in high school when I volunteered for my local library, in a program aimed towards improving students’ reading ability. Having had considerable difficulty learning to read myself, I felt it was important that I attempt to pass this on to others. When I entered Knox College I was focusing on English, and ended up helping my fellow students with writing and editing their papers.
I have always sought to lead rather than force something upon the student by rote. Most important is to present the information in a way that is both interesting and memorable.
