My comments on tutoring Graphic Design : Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Long Island University. Continued studies at Fashion Institute of Technology, Pratt and School of Visual Arts.

Thirty years experience in magazine publishing, creative direction. Prepared magazines for publication starting with paste ups and mechanicals and evolved into computerized art preparation of photographs, text, page layout, cover design, advertising design, marketing collateral design and exhibit design with Adobe and Quark softwares on the Mac. Branched off into dinnerware design, home decorating and jewelry design. Prepared room makeovers on computer using actual photos of room, selected fabrics, paint colors and furnishings that dimensionally fit the space, incorporating keepsakes. Through college spent summers at live-in waitressing jobs in hotels at the Jersey Shore and in Easthampton, NY and at a camp in PA.. Also interned at Bloomingdale's as a buyer. Still work seasonally at Lord & Taylor.

My comments on tutoring Graphic Design : I know basics such as programs to use and developing the idea.

I went to college and obtained a degree in Fine Arts ,I've had many paintings and works shown in the galleries . But my main reasoning for going to college was not to learn how to but to become better and merge my self in the depths of art. Fine arts is a career that is opened to many forms of art besides drawing and painting ,such as sculpting and printmaking , but the main one is the knowledge and skill.I feel that have it all and and if You let me i can teach you to enjoy and take in as much as I did when i was learning.
I teach or Tutor accordingly to the age group I'm with.I have been in many tutor groups and shared with in the work. But I always take my time and ensure that the person knows what is being taught before moving on to the next material.

I started in the 90's before the digital age boomed. I was working in a publishing company which published magazines, books and catalogs. I always had a nack for design so I attended night classes at School of Visual Art. What attracted me to the school was the people teaching where professional designers,typographers, photographers,artist, etc. during the day and they would teach evening what they were working on. I also went to Pratt. After publishing I moved into finance marketing which was far more challenging.

A Little Bit About Me...

Having a BSEE and graduating on the dean's list, my tutoring experience started in college. I tutored other students in Math, Algebra, Calculus, and English. I recently tutor computer illiterate people in Microsoft, and how to send and receive email. I have extensive writing and oral skills to put together proper sentence structures for all ages. In the last 10 years I've tutored mostly essay/report research and composition. For children it has mostly been reading, writing, spelling, proper speech, math, and earth science.
I tutored other classmates in Calc 1 to Calc 4 using easy memory tricks to remember formulas for Integration derivitatives of equations.
