I have BS and MS degrees metallurgical/materials engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, with 30-plus years experience in the metals industry. My industrial experience spans from primary ferrous and nonferrous metal production to aerospace manufacturing, working in various management capacities ranging from plant metallurgist/quality control to general/sales manager. Industrial background includes foundry/casting, specialty steel production, forging, commercial heat treating, and original equipment manufacturing.
I try to fully understand and assess the student’s needs to better resolve issues surrounding the subject matter. Hands on, Practice based, through step by step instruction. Visual learning whenever applicable. Geometry, algebra, physics, and some calculus are in my range of teaching. I am very patient as long as the student is trying to learn and cares about the work. Mental support of students is half the battle.
I am comfortable tutoring lower level math classes, mechanical design, or other engineering classes. Writing classes such as English, literature, or fine arts are fine as well. I have a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering from MIZZOU. I am very proficient in technical editing, critiquing papers and writing technical papers.
