None of my family had gone to college, so it was predicted I would not either. I had a hunger to learn, so I systematically worked full-time and studied part-time, earning eight major degrees in cities where they alowed residency rquirements to be met in such a way. I was young and energetic, so it was a lot of work, but a joy. It took about 15 years to finally earn my doctorate. Along the way, I earned certification in a half dozen fields (especially loved English, social stuides, and psychology). When teaching mathematics, I believe that over half of my job is social skills. Calming my students down, easing their frustration, and making them feel comfortable is over half the battle. It isn't that mathematics is too hard for most people, it is just too frustrating for most people. So my job is to set my client at ease and to create a learning environment. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a substitute teacher with the Boise School District for the past 6 years now. I have also worked for the company, Club Z tutoring. I have both a Bachelors degree as well as a Masters degree (academically) but still need to pass the Praxis II test and then student teach before I can apply for my own classroom. I prefer working with elementary age students and my speciality areas are reading, grammar, spelling, and some math. I have a high GPA of 3.8 and most of my Masters classes have enabled me to gain an understanding of reading and grammatical principles. As part of my Masters program I tutored a 5th grade girl in reading over the summer which enabled her to raise her reading and comprehension to "proficient".
