Secondly, laughter and enjoyment need to be part of the learning process. Concepts should be taught from the bottom up, where every new piece of information is simply an outgrowth of existing knowledge, rather than something new that needs digesting.

I really enjoy being around kids and helping them learn new things. When you teach a kid something and they finally get it, the sight of their face lighting up is priceless. A Little Bit About Me...

The underlying theme of my teaching is to excite and challenge students about the power and beauty of math and science. My approach emphasizes the aesthetics of rigor as a stepping stone to the development of new material within the context of existing knowledge, and students are encouraged to seek elegant methodologies wherever possible. More About This Tutor...

I taught 7th grade Language Arts for six years when I lived in Florida. I collaborated on the team that created the Orange County curriculum for teaching writing to the middle grades. This curriculum is still in use today. I worked for the Princeton Review as a tutor doing SAT preparation both privately and in a classroom setting. This was in preparation for both the verbal and math skills sections.
I believe that students of all ages respond to humor, honesty, and respect. Subjects in which that students have difficulty can be made accessible to them by demonstrating to them the humor in learning something hard and the fun of conquering the subject. Learing should be something students enjoy.
