I love to incorporate art and sensory experiences into everything I do to really activate the brain. The "Drill and Kill" is very rarely appropriate, so I tailor every approach individually. What works for one student may not work with another. My formal training includes many intervention types and experience with multiple programs and curricula, so I have a large pool from which to draw...then we get creative! My style REALLY aims for those over-arching foundational skills like critical thinking, thought organization, and problem solving. Education is very important early on but the correct method of teaching can make a real difference in someone's life in that it gives options to students. A great teacher will give the opportunity for the student to discover their strengths and weaknesses and motivate them to seek who they are and what they want as a future career. Success is measured in the way each student applies their skills and tools of learning to accomplish their task inside and outside the classroom. I want to help my students in realizing their ambitions early on and work hard academically to accomplish a path to reach their future goal.
