I have taught 15 years in the Missouri public school system. I have taught fine arts, K-12, throughout my career. I have organized and taught an at-risk study hall, provided after school tutoring for 6th graders. I taught 6th grade mathmatics. and tutored reading after school. Teaching riding and horsemanship is what sparked my desire to teach. Before I became a teacher I worked with mentally challanged adults and was a job coach for individuals that had sustanined tramatic head injuries. A Little Bit About Me...

My preferred teaching style is discussion with leadership. When the student can relate to the information through own experience or peer experience the information is better absorbed. In a classroom situation a certain amount of lecture is also needed to stimulate the conversation and present the subject materials. As a tutor it would be more a discussion and personal discovery that isn't as easy with a large class.
I hold a wide variety of experience in both education and industry. I earned degrees in Broadcasting and Speech/Communications. With these, I worked in public relations, advertising, community college teaching and broadcasting.
