I am graduating from Texas Tech University in August with a B.A. in psychology. I do very well in tutoring math, especially cal, because I struggled with the subject at first, it didn't come natural, and thus I am able to break it down into understandable levels. A Little Bit About Me...

I hold a M.A. in medical anthropology as well as a B.A. in cultural anthropology. Throughout graduate school I worked as a teaching assistant and upon graduation I taught biological and cultural anthropology courses for the University of Memphis's department of anthropology. The focus area of my graduate studies was child health; this resulted in working on numerous projects with elementary and middle school aged students. In the past I have volunteered with adult literacy programs and I feel equally comfortable teaching teens as well as children.
I love working with children; I began early on as a summer camp counselor for the Girl Scouts of America organization. I like working with children hands on and gaining a better understanding of what works best for them. Whether it be with visuals, paper, using words; I am up to meet the needs of the child to fulfill their highest potential. Also, I like learning from the child's response to see what works best and what doesn't as a best practices.
I have coursework in special education and human development and family studies that has prepared me to work with children and families. My volunteer and paid experience as a substitute and child care teacher has allowed me to apply this knowledge directly to working with this group. In addition, I have mentored high school youth in the areas of scholarship and community service.
