Poetry is one of my top subjects! I have a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing Poetry and Prose which includes extensive studies in American, British, World Poetry; Epic Poetry; Modern and Post-Modern Poetry; Emily Dickenson; poetic analysis and close reading.

I have taught 6th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. I expect hard work and dedication. I use classroom-tested teaching strategies that include but are not limited to role-play, reader-response, kinesthetic and tactile movement, drawing, and holistic engagement in the "story-world" to help students understand and connect to the literature. I have had the unique opportunity throughout college to tutor in various areas. I was very active within a vocal performance group and had the opportunity to assist in public speaking venues frequently. I got the opportunity to assist in a fourth grade classroom, emphasizing the importance of public speaking. I just returned from a semester teaching (English) in Seoul, South Korea.
