While at West Chester University, I had to take Statistics and Probability and that was because I was in the excelled Math program in high school. I had all Math courses up to and including Advanced Algebra. While attending Adirondack Community College, I had to take a Medical Math course that covered many conversions.
I love teaching and working with children and adults. I, myself have achieved a high level of excellence in education by completing two degrees and plan on completing my BS in Nursing. A Little Bit About Me...

My own learning style is a combination of visual and auditory, which has led me to believe flexibility is key. There is no one “best” method which works for all students, so my primary job is to help the student teach me the way he or she learns best. My aim in tutoring, regardless of learning style, is to increase understanding to a point where my student can not only perform the desired action, but also “teach” the concept back to me without assistance. I believe once mastery of a concept has reached this point, it forms a solid, lasting foundation for the next one. I base my teaching on the pholosophy of Eli Siegal: "Aesthetic Realism". It states that "All beauty is a making one of opposites, and a making one of opposites is what we are going after in ourselves" Thus, I relate the subject matter in hand to students' personal lives. For example, if we are learning Le Chartelier's Princlple, which concerns the response of a chemical reaction to stress, I have my students discuss the types of stress they experience, and their responses. We compare this to the beautifully precise and appropriate reaction in Chemistry, where the response is never inapproriate, insufficent or in excess. This method has also taught me that I have much to learn from my students and their life experiences. .
