Statistics is one of my top subjects! After taking statistics myself, I have had the opportunity to help several students through both college and high school level statistics throughout the past few years. I am an upbeat and positive person and am willing to adapt to students' needs. I'm willing to work through homework with students, create study plans, review notes or use whatever other methods the student finds helpful.
I am about to complete my first year at IU School of Dentistry. I completed my B.S. in Biology at IPFW with a 4.0 GPA and love learning! Science is my specialty but I enjoy other subjects as well. I have experience so far tutoring college-level genetics, both high school and college-level statistics, assisting a student getting her GED online, as well as teaching organic and general chemistry to a student getting ready to take the DAT. I love teaching and find that I, as well as my students, learn by teaching and interactively asking questions and seeking answers together. I believe that all students learn differently, so I try to use a varied approach of general lecture review, drawing visual aids, asking students to teach me a concept, developing ideas in multiple processes and working through problem sets. A Little Bit About Me...

Presently retired. 25 years of teaching locally at Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne and at ITT in Fort Wayne. Other localities include Idaho, Arizona, and South Carolina. 20 years as an engineer on Government Projects including the Minuteman Missile, Loss of Fluid Test reactor, Roland Missile Project, Parts of the Lunar Excursion Module etc.
My success in tutoring was more visible to me at ITT in the period between 1995 to 2006. I got to know the student's problems with the subject matter and was able to help them more accurately than in the classroom. I was very pleased with the results of this process. The course involved statistics, math, physics, calculus.

My undergraduate degree is in French however I took extensive coursework in mathematics and chemistry and have a good understanding of all the sciences. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored other students in science courses and lead a laboratory course. These were rewarding experiences as I watched my peers learn and thrive in academics. While working toward my Masters in Environmental Science I was able to teach the laboratory portion of an introductory course for two years. This allowed me to develop lesson plans, tests and quizzes and lab activities. I was also able to tutor two very different high school students in French, algebra and geometry, tutoring one-on-one and learning the challenges and rewards of diverse students.
