A Little Bit About Me...

I have my degree in Elementary Education. I have had experience teaching large class sizes, but I have also spent a lot of time in small group reading instruction, and I have worked in small group math. I tutored a kindergarten girl to improve her phonemic awareness. I tutored Language Arts in elementary school after school hours. I worked at a day care for 5 years and helped students with their homework after school.
I believe in meeting students at their level of need, and mastering the skills needed in order to move onto higher level skills. I believe in teaching students how to develop their critical thinking skills, and teaching them the concepts needed to succeed in school and life.

I believe that all children can learn but they don't all learn the same way. It is my job as the teacher to make the lessons interesting and present them in such a way that the student will understand what is being taught. I believe that students need to feel valued and successful and it is my job to help them achieve success in their education and to feel valued as people.
