My comments on tutoring Elementary : I have taught K3, 1st, 2nd grade reading, 4th grade preparation for testing, 5th and 6th grade in elementary settings. I taught 4 and 5 year olds at a day care center.

I have worked with children in a variety of settings and ages over the past 25 years: church camp counselor, gymnastics coach, dance instructor, theater, forensics judge, tutor, and classroom teacher. My comments on tutoring Elementary : I was a elementary special education teacher for 10 years. I helped my students in all subject areas to be successful and find their individual learning style.

I have been a Special Education Teacher for 15 years and an administrator for 5 years. I have taught at both the elementary, intermediate and high school levels. I have worked with students who have been severely cognitively disabled and those that have had multiple attention and behavioral concerns. I am very patient and have been able to create systems to provide structure to keep kids on track. I always want children to know what to expect and have a structure in which to be successful.
I believe my patience and creativity allows children to feel comfortable with their own learning needs. I work with them and help them find their unique learning style. We then build on that style to build their confidence and ability. All children can learn once we find their unique learning "channel".
