Never stop pushing yourself to learn

I have taught a large array of children and adults, anywhere from a 2nd grader struggling with reading to adult Burmese refugees. I have the patience and flexibility to successfully work with anyone. I started tutoring when I was around the age of 13. I taught a young Korean girl English, where I would have to create my own lesson plans. While I attended Okemos high school, I partook in volunteering experiences that dealt with tutoring. For two years, I was placed at an elementary school where I would tutor 1st-5th graders biweekly with anything from basic math to practice with reading. I am a college graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in Elementary Education, a major in science and minor in English. I have obtained 22 credits of my masters degree in Teacher Leadership for School Improvement and am 1 course away from my Reading Endorsement. I am also ESOL certified. I am a certified teacher and experienced tutor. A Little Bit About Me...

I am happily retired at a relatively young age and am seeking an outlet for my skills and abilities that can benefit others. My greatest joy is spending time with our 6 grandchildren, as I have always liked kids.
I have trained employees in both manual labor and on-the-job customer service and sales. In addition, I was responsible for coordinating training programs for in plant positions like hi-lo driving and safety as well as Adult Education (Speed Reading, English as a Second Language, etc.). I held a sales position for 25 years and possess strong people skills and problem solving and conflict resolution abilities. While enrolled at Davenport University in 2008-2009, I received a 4.0 GPA that included a Training and Development course.
