Learning should be a fun experience for children and adults alike, and while I maintain structure, I also want to make sure that students are enjoying the time that they spend learning with me. I am a patient teacher, and as someone who went through school with ADD, I understand the difficulties many children face in traditional classroom settings.

Despite a demanding, accelerated academic schedule, during my three years at a competitive private college I voluntarily tutored underprivileged elementary students. In earning my BA in Sociology/Anthropology I became well versed on understanding people from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. I also have a strong background in the social sciences including social studies, history and language arts. My college major also required that I write numerous papers and helped me to develop a strong writing style, as well as a keen understanding of grammar. After moving overseas in 2004, I began substitute teaching at an elementary/middle school for two years. A Little Bit About Me...

During the attainment of my undergraduate degree, I conducted research under my professor, Dr. Greg Powell. Throughout the research, I gathered many skills one being creative in learning, as well as, presenting new material and teaching it to fellow peers and professors. I have also worked as a teacher’s assistant, running a chemistry lab of about - five students.
I enjoy a very interactive learning approach. I tend to use hands on and visual learning techniques. I am patient and children are my joy to work with.
