Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects! I have been very successful sharing strategies for comprehending reading, especially when reading-to-learn, for more than a decade with students of all ages.

My teaching style is one that always tries to relate to the child and to have fun. Does the child enjoy video games, dinosaurs, soccer, dance, or a particular cartoon character? When I discover what it is the child enjoys, I bring that element into the subject we are learning about. If the child likes soccer and struggles in reading, I research about famous soccer players and find books on them. Perhaps, at the end of a teaching session, we go outside and kick the soccer ball for 5 minutes as a source of inspiration to get work completed. Bringing in other ways of learning through play and games is also something I enjoy.
