I consider myself to be a "beginner" teacher as I have recently graduated college and received my license. I have spent roughly 500 hours in the field as a result of college course requirements, and I have successfully completed a 12 week internship (student teaching) experience. I have had the opportunity to work in many different subject areas and classroom settings with students of various backgrounds, ages, and learning styles.
I try to take a hands-on approach to teaching when possible. I find it helpful to use varied and often unusual objects and materials when teaching a lesson; it tends to make the material more memorable. However I am not above using the standard pencil/paper/textbook approach when needed.

It was my job to try to "trick" the scales before they could become available for commercial use. I moved back home to Coshocton when I got married. I taught in the inner city of Pittsburgh as reading tutor. In Columbus I taught music, reading, special education, and all other subjects from Preschool through high school. I tutored Whitehall high school students in their homes. I enjoyed teaching almost every day in different school districts for years. I have a masters degree in school counseling which has enabled me to understand the needs of most students.
