I believe each child has their own learning style. Through a variety of approaches and materials each child can find success in reading and math in their elementary school years. I enjoy finding each child's path to success.
I have taught Special Education for 26 years and third grade for 6. I have tutored using the Reading Assist program and various other methods for reading. I also have many techniques for teaching math to young learners. I enjoy working with children one on one or in small groups. I have retired from teaching but would like to continue working with children part-time. I have been substituting the past couple of years since retiring.

I believe that every child has a right to learn. I believe that, no matter what kind of problem or learning disability that student has, that he/she deserves to learn. It is the responsibility, not only of the teacher, but the parents, grandparents, siblings and community to help children receive the best education that they can. My forte is adapting to the individual student. I have an inate ability to deciper the way each student's mind absorbs knowledge and I am flexible enough in my methodology to adjust to the necessary path. I went to college and earned a BS in Biology always knowing that I would eventually teach the sciences. I was an excellent student and have always found pride in myself on my ability to communicate with clearity. I have one year of tutoring experience at the k-12 level.
