A Little Bit About Me...

I am a fun, enthusiastic, caring, supportive, yet, particular teacher. My students learn whether they want to or not... I include a lot of games and activities which are fun for everyone, including myself! I have to have fun, because if I'm not, I know my students aren't having any fun. I care very much for people, therefore, wanting what is best for my students and for them to see the importance of learning another language. I share a lot of my own personal experience, sparking interest in the students and creating a connection with them!
I have been teaching Spanish for 5 years and taught ESL for two years when I lived in Spain. I went to Spain to improve my Spanish and I recommend my students to study abroad! A Little Bit About Me...

I am a retired Boulder valley teacher and I have taught from the preschool to college level for over 20 years. Most recently, I worked as an ESL and reading teacher. My training was modeled after reading recovery and involved one year of supervised teaching one-on-one with children who were struggling readers. The goal of this training is to help children work with their strengths as readers, rather than focusing on their weaknesses. Children learn the strategies that they need in order to be successful, independent readers. The work I do with them is very focused and begins with a thorough diagnostic assessment of their reading abilities. A Little Bit About Me...

During my three years of formal tutoring, I was able to change my tutoring styles to fit the needs of the student. Everyone learns differently and it is important to realize and adjust my tutoring accordingly.
During the last three years of my undergraduate college career, I was a Mathematics tutor for student athletes. Although the courses covered while tutoring ranged from basic math to calculus, I am more comfotable tutoring algebra and geometry. I earned my BA with a double major in Mathematics and Russian in just four years. After college, I helped my sister and step-sister with their math and math-related physcis problems.
