A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching Spanish for 5 years and taught ESL for two years when I lived in Spain. I went to Spain to improve my Spanish and I recommend my students to study abroad! It is the best way to learn/practice the language as well as really get to know the culture. Right now, I am tutoring - working for myself and/or companies. Spanish is my expertise, yet, I can help, teach, tutor students in Middle School or younger in English, Science and Social Studies.

My training was modeled after reading recovery and involved one year of supervised teaching one-on-one with children who were struggling readers. The goal of this training is to help children work with their strengths as readers, rather than focusing on their weaknesses. During my three years of formal tutoring, I was able to change my tutoring styles to fit the needs of the student. Everyone learns differently and it is important to realize and adjust my tutoring accordingly.
During the last three years of my undergraduate college career, I was a Mathematics tutor for student athletes. Although the courses covered while tutoring ranged from basic math to calculus, I am more comfotable tutoring algebra and geometry. I earned my BA with a double major in Mathematics and Russian in just four years. After college, I helped my sister and step-sister with their math and math-related physcis problems.
