A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent graduate from Radford University, I am anxious to begin teaching. I have spent the last year in a middle school classroom observing and teaching. The first semester I was in the school part time while taking classes at Radford. During this semester I did a lot of observing and moderate amounts of teaching. During my spring semester, I was in the middle school classroom full time and teaching full time. I have no job expereince to show for what I've learned but would love the opportunity to begin.
I have always wanted to be a teacher and love working with children of all ages. I have taught just about all secondary levels of science throughout my teaching career. I have typically worked in county schools where each member of the department had to take on multiple tasks. I have taught chemistry, physics, biology, earth science, environmental science, horticulture, and principles of technology in my twenty-five year career. I have often taught lower math classes as well, ranging from Math 8 to Algebra I and geometry.
I really enjoy working with young teens. I have worked in high schools for 25 years in Virginia and West Virginia. I have always had good rapport with teens and have enjoyed interacting with them. A Little Bit About Me...

I have spent several years as a student and tutor at the university level. I am planning to enter medical school in the Fall of 2012 and as such have developed a strong foundation in the sciences throughout my undergraduate education. Although I majored in Biology, my true passion is Chemistry. I spent 2 years on a religious service mission where I became fluent in Spanish. I am fascinated by the ability to communicate with an entirely new group of people. I learned Spanish by being immersed in the culture and have since studied Spanish at the university level in order to understand the "rules" behind speaking the language.
