I have experience in hands on teaching of students with their horses. I have worked on and off for many years helping memebers of local 4-H clubs prepare their animals for show. I enjoy seeing a student "click" with their project and be able to accomplish new goals. I think it is important to set specific goals for aech student and make those happen before you move on.

Being in college for four years exposed me to social environments that I normally wouldn't have been able to encounter on a day to day basis. Whether I was learning on my own, working with or helping fellow classmates, or even just observing how the professors worked with us, I was always learing new concepts or methods of how to interact with a wide variety of characteristics in a diverse group of people. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping students understand mathematics. Math can be challenging, but when it is finally understood it can be extremely rewarding. I firmly believe that the key to mastering math is by repetition of examples rather than by studying complex theories. My primary experience is with young adults, and I am in my early twenties, so working with high school or college students is what I would be best suited for.
I recently spent my final year in college employed by Ohio University as a tutor for athletes. I was paired with a young wrestler and my duties were to help him with all aspects of his studies. I frequently held Drop-In tutoring with the school's LEAD program. In addition, I would also do One-on-One tutoring when needed.
I love tutoring, as it helps me keep up-to-date with the material, and I enjoy seeing someone finally grasp a concept they had struggled with previously. I typically help a student by example, if applicable. In math courses, I find that working through problems with the student is best. For science courses, going over concepts in the chapters before doing problems works best. I also help the student take better notes in class and take better notes when reading the chapter.
