I graduated Cum Laude from Manhattan College with a double major in Psychology and Communications. In addition to studying for two majors, I was also a Division 1 athlete and held 2 jobs. Seeing as I was very busy with extracirricular activities, I believe that my graduating with honors was truly a testament to how hard I worked. Since college, I have worked in two jobs that have really tested my gramatical, reading, editing and speaking skills. My approach to teaching/tutoring is simple. 1) Make an assessment of the student’s needs. This is a critical part of the methodology. The assessment of needs is based upon the student’s own statement of his abilities as well as empirical evidence of his performance and capabilities. 2) Develop a plan and design goals to meet those needs.
