My style is to try and present the matertial in a framwork that students can relate to. So if I'm trying to get a financial concepts across to someone I try to think about what this will mean to the student and how they will use it in there work--answer the question of how it relates to the outputs of that individual's job or life. I think I do this because it's how I learn best.
I taught high school religious education for approximately six years. This required relating to students, some of whom were reluctant to be there. As an undergraduate, I was very much driven to accomplish a level of education in computer science.
