Elementary Grammar is one of my top subjects! Proper grammar is essential to success. I have many years of experience in teaching grammar.

I am a retired classroom teacher with over 35 years of experience. I have taught in all grades in elementary school as well as college classes online and on campus. My area of expertise is reading. During most of my years of teaching, I worked in a "self-contained" classroom setting so I was responsible for teaching all subject areas in the grade level. I love all children but find I really connect with the younger learners.
I enjoy children, especially young children and I believe that everyone can learn. I know that one-on-one hands-on teaching is the best and that is the approach that I take when tutoring. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught public school in the Montgomery County School System for 26 years. I retired May 2010. I have taught grades 1-6 in All subject areas. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1983 from Auburn University. I received my Master's Degree in Education from Troy State University at Montgomery in 1990. I have worked extensively with children in many areas due to the No Child left Behind Act. I have been to a Reading Academy, workshops, on the job training, and have been given title of model teacher. This is where new teachers come to observe my teaching of new programs that were put in place.

A Little Bit About Me...

I taught Kindergarten for six years in Ohio after earning my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. During that time I went back to further my education and receive my Master's in Literacy. I took an exam which made me certified to teach Reading grades K-12. During my master's program, I took a semester to tutor a struggling student. I learned how to adjust my teaching style based on his needs, making it fun, while making a difference in his education.
