I recently graduated with my Master's degree in Social Welfare from the University of California at Berkeley, and earned my first graduate degree in 1997 at the University of California at Los Angeles in Education. I taught 2nd grade in a bilingual Spanish classroom from 1996 to 2000 for the Los Angeles Unified School District. I also taught English to high school students for the Peace Corps in Nicaragua. I have studied foreign languages and speak Spanish and Portuguese fluently, and also speak some French and Japanese. Due to my past education, work experience, and time spent abroad, I am comfortable tutoring language arts, the social sciences, basic math, reading, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. I love working with kids. I believe that the kids are our future and if we adults don't help them grow up to be leaders and make better choices in their lives we will not have any sense of direction.
