English ESOL is one of my top subjects! I have taught ESOL at school for nearly 30 years and worked as a tutor with all ages of students from Elementary and Middle School grade levels all the way up to college students and adults.

My approach to tutoring is that all students are capable of learning. Kids often benefit from a fresh perspective and it is my job to make them more confident again. I try to explain to the students that once the rules are understood it becomes simple to get to the final result. To start my tutoring processing, I try to identify what is needed to improve the defiance of the student. Then I try to see what method works best for the student. Thirdly, I go over the rules for the subject and write those down for the student to use as a guide to solve problems. And fourthly, we work at similar exercises of my own or from the book. I have tutored in Reading for elementary students. I have also taught Psychology for over four years at two community colleges. I taught many students with diverse backgrounds. I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. My vocabulary, spelling and reading skills are very strong. I have utilized this in different jobs and volunteer positions I have held. 15 years experience in a broad variety of subjects!

I have been tutoring for over 15 years both in students homes or at public locations such as coffee shops or the public library. My education and experience are broad. I was educated at "Ivy League" level schools and purposefully educated myself in a large variety of the humanities, which in essence all tie together. Basic courses up through most High School material outside of the Humanities are not difficult. Actually, while my education has been primarily in the Humanities, the material I see the most in tutoring is Algebra and Geometry!
