I am 23 years old and strive for excellence constantly. I currently have two jobs and a child. I work hard for my family and make sure that I do my best in everything that is put in front of me. I have made it through high school and college. I have worked with younger children as well as older children. I like to be challenged and will learn with anyone and everyone I work with.
I have many ways of teaching. I like to make the experience rewarding, fun and educational. As I continue to work with others I find their strengths and weaknesses and do the best I can to make the experience fun and as stress free as possible. I know that it can be tough learning new subjects, however, if you put your mind to it, there is always a way. I use games, activities and also outside projects to learn as much as possible.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with all children. During the past twenty years, I had the opportunity to work with very diverse students from kindergarten to 6th grade. Given the right instruction, I believe that all students can learn. As a reading specialist, I have seen students go from struggling readers to confident readers. By working with these students and seeing their lives change; I know I make a difference.
I believe that all teachers should be life-long learners. All teachers should be informed on new best practices and be knowledgeable of current educational policies. I have been tutoring for many years with different kinds of children. To begin with, I tutored my younger sister starting when she was about seven years old to age twelve or thirteen. In high school, I also volunteered for an after-school program for Hispanic children ages seven-twelve where I helped them with their homework in various subjects. In addition, I spent about four months tutoring a severely autistic child, teaching him different communication skills and helping him to form patterns. I have always been an 'A' student and I excel in math, science, English, foreign languages, and history.
