The background to most common disorders in adults is complex involving multiple genes, thus I used advanced fuzzy latent class analysis to identify high and low risk sets of gene variants and to define the level of risk for individuals. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that in order for students to obtain knowledge, they must develop some level of interest in the subject. As a teacher, I try to understand the student's mind in order to present the material in such a way that it will fit together with the student's preexisting knowledge. If a student is passionate about sports or video games, I try and use examples and metaphors from those respective areas within the lessons. Students must to be shown rather than told why a subject is important, and I believe that effective learning happens when teachers build on the knowledge base that students have already developed experientially throughout their lives.

I taught mathematics and business mathematics for 14 years in California in universities and community colleges. While in California, I also was a substitute teacher from third through twelfth grades. In New Mexico, I have taught mathematics, computer science, and astronomy for six years at two universities, the local community college, and in high school.
