I have been actively involved in music since I was 5 years old. I have performed to crowds big and small, and have a vast experience in performing, teaching, composing and producing music. I received a Bachelor of Music, with Honors, from University of Ulster in 2008, a university based in Ireland, where I am originally from. There, I primarily focused on drum kit performance, but also had to write many analytical and research papers, along with composing music, and writing music using a computer. I received the equivalent of a 3.8 GPA. I feel that many teachers today do not use the resources available today effectively, and this is something I strive to change in teaching. I use all forms of multimedia, like audio, video and books to get my students as broad a learning spectrum as possible. I have just recently finished a Masters program in music education at Central Michigan University. I have been teaching, tutoring, and mentoring students for 5 years. My experience ranges from after school tutoring to long term substitute positions. My specialty areas are lower brass pedagogy, Composition/arranging, and jazz.
