Since Mich of humanity's understanding is based on metaphor, description and its subtleties is a key part of any writing process, be it creative or instructional.My favorite form of writing is creative, however I also enjoy writing essays and other pieces based on fact. A Little Bit About Me...

I worked for 11 years in Virginia as a paraprofessional in the school system, originally doing strictly homebase work with handicapped children, then moving into the schools. I worked with middle school children faced with a wide range of disabilities and disorders, including ADHD, Downs, emotional issues and hearing impairments. I have worked with many of my classmates through my college years, helping them to prepare research papers and presentations at the same time as I was working on mine. I also have a 13 year old son who has been in gifted programs since he was in the fourth grade; he is now involved in the Duke TIP program and recently scored a 22 overall on the ACT test, with his highest scores in reading and English.
