Calculus I is one of my top subjects! "Great Math Tutor!" - Laura, Gallatin, TN on 8/7/15 Going in to his senior year, our son had never really been challenged in school. That all changed with calculus. After failing the first two exams, we called Devin for help. My comments on tutoring Calculus I : I minored in Mathematics in college. I took Calculus I, II, III and IV. I liked Calculus 1 and II the most.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems with a double minor in Business Administration and Mathematics. I Love tutoring individuals and passing on knowledge. I was able to use my tutoring skills in college as a math and computer science tutor. I am a very analytical person. I am comfortable to be around. Others see me as a very patient person, so if something doesn't make sense, you don't need to be afraid to ask the same question over again until you get the concept.

It is very important to assess what the student already knows and the level of understanding they hold at the beginning. It is also important to make sure that what they know is correct and that they are not confused or misunderstanding the material. After which, getting to know the individual style of learning for each student will insure that time is used efficiently and that the student is understanding and retaining the material being taught.
