I have been teaching for over 10 years. I am currently a second grade teacher. I tutor during the summers and have students of all ages, including middle school and high school. I believe all children can learn. It takes a special teacher to find out how a child learns and create lessons to engage that learning style. Throw out my high school year I was in a program called “Learn and Serve”. This program consisted of going to the closest elementary school for an hour a day and be a teachers aid. Therefor, I help any student who was having difficulties. In some cases would even help teach a lesson if the only adult in the room was a sub teacher. I find diffrent ways to help children understand what they are learning in a fun way.

Love working with children to help enhance their reading ability. I have worked through various reading tutor programs such as Freedom School and One on One Learning. I enjoyed every minute of it! It is important for children to master this skill to be able to function in everyday life situations. I have constructed lesson plans and activities that went along with the book of the week to help with the understanding the plot of the story. I believe the best teaching style is to pay attention to the needs of the student and work diligently with them to reduce frustration they may be feeling. I am here to help that is my main goal and concern is that the child strengthens their reading abilities.
