My comments on tutoring ACT : I have a unique program for preparing students for the math portion of the ACT. I use diagnostic testing to help identify areas that need to be addressed, and provide practice using ACT practice tests to strengthen skills and build confidence.

Patient, encouraging, supportive. I use adaptive computer technology to supplement my tutoring.
I have taught at the high school and middle school for 17 years, in the Mequoun-Thiensville an Grafton School Districts. I was a school counselor for 5 years (middle school) and am currently an associate middle school principal. I retired from the Army Reserve in 2006 with 20 years of service. I believe a good teacher will be able to convey the information in way best-suited to the student. A teacher can be extremely knowledgable, but the student must be enabled to learn through motivation and having the material accessible/understandable. I want to make sure the student is on the same page as me, and understands concepts/approaches to learning rather than just memorizing the material.
During my research-based M.Sc. study in Microbiology, I TA'ed three undergraduate courses (General Biology & Introduction to Microbiology). Over the years, I have become more aware of myself so that I can learn more efficiently. I don't have a "one size fits all" approach to teaching; rather, I try to tailor my approach to the learning style of the student. I believe that each and every student has the potential to learn whatever subject matter is being investigated. My math teaching style relies heavily on problem solving and repetition.
