My comments on tutoring Study Skills : I have utilized study skills to prepare students for various tests. Also, I have used study skills during my bachelor, Masters, and doctoral degrees. Lastly, I have helped college students with study skills.

I have tutored in both Robeson County and Cumberland County for a total of six years. I tutored students in math, reading and science from grades Kindergarten to sixth grade. We also prepared students in grades three through six for the End of the Year test. We taught test taking strategies as well. In addition, I have tutored students that attend college in American Government and World History. I also, tutored in GA for three years. There I tutored various age groups in writing, reading, math, test strategies, and Microsoft Office. Lastly, I currently tutor students of various ages in math, reading, science, social studies, and writing.

During the past four years, I have obtained a BS in Accounting with a Concentration in Fraud Examination and a Minor in Business Management. I have been employed full-time as the Business Manager of a private, not-for-profit Christian school, and as the Business Director of a student newspaper, The Voice. I have worked continuously in the educational setting with students, staff, and clients. With the vast array of individualized learning abilities, styles, and patterns I have come to be very successful in enabling others to understand such areas such as math, finance, and accounting.

I believe that everyone is teachable, if the student has the desire and the teacher has the commitment. I tend to be a patient teacher, with high standards. I actively question the student, which allows me to challenge the student in my presence, where I am able to guide him/her. While I have predominantly tutored college students, I have also taught adults and children. My sister-in-law is probably my biggest supporter, since she has watched me teach my nephews (now 9 and 10) an array of subjects over the years. I received my undergraduate degree from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in Earth & Space Science. I then went on to get my masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Bloomsburg University also. I am currently waiting to receive my Pennsylvania State teaching certificate, I will then be certified to teach Secondary Education (grades 7-12) Earth & Space Science. I had the experience of student teaching in both a high school and middle school setting. I student taught 7th grade general science, 9th grade introduction to Biology, and a 12th grade Earth Science class.
