A large part of earning my B.A. in Business Management consisted of writing reports and papers for everything from English to Market Research. In order to be successful in the business or psychology world, one has to have great writing and verbal skills to talk to clients and write up reports of findings. I have had experience with research for and compilation of reports for school and businesses in the area. A Little Bit About Me...

I have completed a MAST (Mathematics as Strategic Teaching) Seminar. I have completed training over engaging difficult students and I have also learned more innovative techniques in which to use when engaging students who are trying to achieve more challenging skills. I designed a program called Math Mates, which was an after school intervention program for students who needed more hands on time for learning, I opened the program up for all students but set aside certain days when specific students were invited so we could use more hands on manipulative and we worked on the different content standards.

A Little Bit About Me...

I really enjoy teaching and tutoring college students but could also tutor high school students and grade school. Important is for me to be aware of what the student is finding difficult to learn. So if I see graded homework, tests, quizzes, other things that give me insight into what the student has not accomplished, then I can help. My goal is to get the student at high education level.
I have advanced degrees in mathematics, statistics, and in biology area. I have taught in higher education for 36 years. I have also tutored my higher education students many times. I always wanted to become a math teacher, but in order to become one in a communist regime; you had to be a member in the Romanian Communist Party. So, I obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineer (172 credit hours). I was working as a designer in Romania and had in parallel a private math and physics tutoring business. At NEIU I finished a lot of credits hours toward my second BA in Secondary Education Mathematics. Meanwhile, I found a job as a Mechanical Engineer at Mercury Products. Three years ago I have relocated with my husband's company in Dayton, Ohio. Meanwhile, I found an Estimator job at PTC and I was laid off due to the economy. My teaching goal is to prepare students to become responsible persons, self-motivated and independent individuals able to solve actual problems and to provide leadership in the technical world. I teach the students not to stop their thinking process once a numerical value has been calculated. I stress the meaningful interpretation of the predicted results and in agreement with physical units and the maximum allowed limits of the actual application.
