My comments on tutoring Language Arts : I have a BA in English.

I prefer the Socratic method of asking/answering questions and discussion, but I am more than capable of diverting to a more lecture style of teaching if that is what works with the student. I tailor my teaching style to the strengths of the student.
I am a teacher with 7 years of classroom experience. My degree is in English, but I have taught in many other areas, including math, history, logic, and rhetoric. I have also tutored many students in grammar and writing, as well as Algebra I and II. I have more than 10 years teaching experience. During this time I have taught at universities, public and private schools. The subject taught most often was English language and all its components i.e. reading, writing etc. I have also had four (4) English language workbooks published by Pearson-Longman, one of which has been adopted in some private schools.
